The North Face VaporWick Mid-Tight is your first line of defense against loss of body heat. It is your most basic layering piece. Made of 100% polyester, the soft, silky feel of the material actually wicks moisture and sweat away from your skin, before it has a chance to cool, thus keeping you warm and dry. High aerobic activities like snowshoeing, and biking produce a lot of excess moisture. The goal of VaporWick underclothing is to remove this moisture from the skin as quickly as possibly, before it condenses and cools your body temperature - and it does, it performs admirably. The crotch is gusseted which makes a big difference with aerobic activities. They're so soft to the touch, you might want to buy one of each color.
