The North Face Kilo Bag is a lightweight, 600+ goose filled down bag, ideally suited for moving about in temperatures that don't drop below freezing: i.e. summer cross-country bike trips, canyon exploration in the San Rafael Swell, island hoping in the Bahamas. The Kilo weights in at 2 lbs, and in a compression stuffsack, compresses down to a football size bundle, which is just the right size for a backpack. Add a breathable, waterproof Goretex bivy sack, and you've secured yourself a first-rate, fast-track shelter and sleeping arrangement. Nothing beats the convenience of easy-grab pull tabs for ease of zippering, while color-coded pull cords allow you to make precision hood adjustments from inside the bag. You'll quickly notice the fact that the zipper never snags, thanks to the zipper column being lined with pack cloth. A full-length draft tube prevents heat loss through the zipper, and North Face's Ripple Construction evenly distributes the down, and prevents it from moving from side to side. The bottom of the bag is lined with BottomLine taffeta which affords protection from various ground conditions, while the top is lined with Pertex Resist ripstop, a fabric that resists moisture, and prevents down from poking through the fabric. And least we forget, the inside of the bag is lined with the soft and breathable Silken lining which always has a luxurious feel next to your skin. Going summer camping, take the Kilo along.
