The North Face Women's Venture Acclimate Jacket is a superb three-in-one rain jacket with accentuated wind-resistant properties by virtue of the bilayer zip-in liner. The outer jacket is waterproof and breathable thanks to HyVent technology, a polyurethane, microgrid print on the inside of the jacket that separates the waterproof membrane from the skin, for channeling moisture to the outside of the fabric. The application and advantage of this technology is quickly noted after wet or misty treks in the backcountry or while sitting in the bleachers, during a slow drizzle, because you're still dry, warm and comfortable. When the sun finally breaks through, the fully adjustable hood can be stowed in the collar, and pit-zips provide added ventilation. Depending on weather conditions, you can the wear the wind-resistant, zip-in liner, or waterproof-breathable jacket separate, or combine them for maximum protection against wet and windy conditions. And when not needed at all, stow the jacket in the left pocket, and toss it in your backpack. The Venture Acclimate - great protection in a small package.
