Because every dinner meal deserves a treat, Mountain House figured out a way to freeze dry a real ice cream sandwich. It looks and tastes just like the real thing, which it is of course, only it doesn't drip, it melts in your mouth. Kimball Jones, who spent five months rowing across the Atlantic Ocean, had a number of these ice cream deserts with him. He readily proclaims their desirability as an after-dinner treat. Says Kimball Jones, "one sandwich lasted a long time, in fact, by breaking off small pieces and sucking on them, I could make one last the entire morning."
