The abrasion resistant Purdur coating protects and prolongs the life of the outer sheath, while the EveryDry moisture and dirt-repellant coating resists moisture absorption, and aids in keeping the rope clean. Nothing shortens the life of a climbing rope quicker than razor sharp grains of quartz that become embedded in the sheath fibers and begin their cutting action, like so many termites.
