The Eagle Creek Auto Dual Wattage Converter is a transformer/converter that steps down foreign electricity (220/240V) to North American (110/125V) current. It detects electric or electronic appliance and switches automatically between a 0-50 watt transformer and a 51-1875 watt converter. In the low setting, you can use appliances such as curling irons, toothbrushes, battery chargers, and other appliances using between 0-25 watts. In the high setting, you can use appliances such as irons, coffee makers, heating pads, hair dryers, and other appliances using between 26-1875 watts.
Note: Foreign travelers need to know the power use (or wattage use) of the appliances they’re taking overseas. Wattage designates power use, i.e. light bulbs use 50, 60, 75, 100 watts, etc. Low wattage electrical appliances would be battery chargers, curling irons, electric toothbrushes. High wattage electrical appliances would be hair dryers, clothes steamers, irons, heating pads, coffee makers, beverage heaters. If the appliance has a low wattage use, choose the 0-50 Watts Transformer; if it’s rated above 50, choose the Eagle Creek 26-1875 Converter. If you want the functionality of both a high and low converter, choose the Eagle Creek Dual Wattage Converter, either manual or auto.
