The Adventure Medical Expedition First Aid Kit was designed for very large groups spending multi weeks in remote regions of the world. If you're the trip leader, or the medical specialist responsible for rounding up the appropriate medical supplies for your group, don't waste your time trying to "re-invent the wheel." The emergency room first aid supplies you need to treat a multiplicity of wilderness injuries and traumas have already been assembled by Adventure Medical. Using their Easy Care system, all supplies in the Expedition First Kit are arranged in clear vinyl pouches, for easy identification, according to injury - i.e., burns, wound management, bleeding, facture/sprains, medication, etc. These extensive kits were originally developed for Mountain Travel/Sobek and have seen action on major expeditions to Mr. Everest, Antarctica, Peru, India, and Lubbock, Texas. Not sure how to treat a specific illness or injury, read about it in the Comprehensive Guide to Wilderness and Travel Medicine by Dr. Eric Weiss, M.D., a fascinating manual of medical help included as part of the first aid kit.
